I found this riveting and confusing in equal measures and am quite glad it finished last night. I’m also glad I stuck with it to the end but couldn’t tell you why.

I totally echo your feelings, breathed a sigh of relief at the end - what a waste of a series.
ethandron & Mamya - you've summed it up perfectly as far as I'm concerned.
I'm none the wiser for sticking with it either.

Did the writers miss a trick ?
I thought it was fab. There'd better be a second series.
I hope so too Rocky, quite perverse of me I know.
Hope in the second series that her in-laws have an almighty fight :-)))

Glad it wasn't just me who was confused, I thought I'd missed something along the way. Looks like series 2 is on the way
Woohoo. Thanks Margo. Saves me a Google.
You're welcome Rocky. I quite thought I'd wasted 8 hours of my life, but perhaps things may become clear in series 2
Lol. You did have to keep on the ball with it. A couple of times I found myself rewinding some scenes as I was a bit confused.
I reckon the person who invent the rewind/ pause function should get a medal. We use it all the time!
I thought the mother in law was dead. She certainly looked it! And then her daughter said mum is going to die and i thought What The Funicular? I found it rather confusing in places. Was the husband a goodie or baddie? Did he sleep with Irish woman? Where did ginger man get120 k from?
ethandron - likewise !!!

I thought mother in law had taken something. How/why did Irish woman phone just at the right time to call off her police thugs? Especially as Steve wanted her killed?Presume husband has returned to set up another series
i'd assumed that she was imagining her husband being there?
We were determined to watch till the end. Still going thru our heads what happened! Might watch last episode again....
I totally agree, ethandron. I was determined to watch the whole thing, but ended up just slightly less clueless than I was at the beginning.

Ha ha, seems I’m not the only one to feel this way then, thought it was just me.
The main actress used to be in a series where she was a midwife and I really enjoyed it, kept expecting this to be something similar. The hair flicking and camera work drove me nuts, lots of posturing and facial contortions.
It wasn't wasted on me - I never watched it!
I agree with ethandron about the posturing and expressions. Lots of long drawn out scenes with dreary music. Won't be watching again.
