Sorry but out of the dozens of 75 and over not one is housebound

Just does not make sense ?
Rockrose clearly means the ones she knows and I agree with her. Trump is 72!!
i'm guessing rockrose meant to type 'dozens of 75 and over people I know'
scrap fees for everyone...the days of the autonomous BBC are over
Definitely, then they can give more to Gary Lineker,Graham Norton,et al,not forgetting all the BBC Executives and Middle management.

Whether people are housebound or not is irrelevant. The main issue is, can people over 75 afford to pay. And the answer is probably yes, unless they are on benefits.
Rockrose, On what do you base your figures?
Sorry but I don't agree. Housebound or not, oldies deserve free tv. Many are Lonely and just because they're agile doesn't mean they're out boogieing every night.
Margarettom, A pensioner living on state benefit alone might be hard pushed to afford £150 a year.
Danny, I am basing my figures on people I know personally.
no, due to continual repeat programs that 75y olds would have seen triple plus times over
Tambourine, if they have Alzheimer's, it won't really matter.
disband the bbc or make it finance itself...sell it off as they did with other public services, considering we have streaming media, satellite etc...its out of date now, i haven't watched anything on the bbc for years.
Most 75 years olds I know watch less TV than they did when younger. I most certainly do, I find most programs are rubbish anyway. If our TV ever packs up I won't be replacing it.
The solution is easy.

No more licence fee, let those that want the BBC pay for it via subscription. If it's as popular as people claim then there wont be a problem.
The only time I watch TV is if there is a major news item I wish to follow. I haven't switched it on for over a year; the last time was for the 2017 election.
Sharon, they wouldnt remember to buy a licence nor understand the broadcasts
If you are over 75, then the answer is NO.
If you are approaching 75, then the answer is NO.
If you are nowhere near 75 then the answer is YES or I couldn't care less.
Tambo, which is why it should be free!
