Who would you ideally like to have running BBC Radio 2? I'd nominate Mike Read, still a great DJ - as he proves on United DJs every weekday morning - and extremely experienced and knowledgeable.
For me, Mike Read is the best breakfast show jock ever. He should’ve been on Radio 2 decades ago, like Steve Wright who he started out on commercial radio with, and unlike Wrighty the Readster still has “it”. Being a great broadcaster doesn’t mean he’ll be great at running a radio station, but he must know every bit about them by now. And, putting it politely, the current R2 bosses have proven to be lacking to say the least.
