I played a cameo role in the Dirty Dozen as a 17 year old air cadet. The short shot where the team drove down Aerodrome Rd past Hendon Police College into RAF Hendon and the band was waiting to greet them. In the far background behind the band you can see a Slingsby Mk111 glider taking off under winch tow. That was me on one of three solos at end of my course. I lived about 500 yds up the road.
In far background you can see the A41 (Watford Way) with the K garage quite prominent.Quite a spoiler when you know the locale and the day of the shot with all the modern traffic seen on the A41.

Strange how Private Maggot gets blasted by his own team in first DD yet does a miraculous Lazarus, gets promoted to Major and leads the Dirty Dozen mission Mk11
