that was a great rendition by Tom Jones, as you say he's still got it.
That man's got one heck of a voice. I'm not really familiar with Lonny Donegan...but I know that song. What a beautiful rendition.
Very much like his dad. I liked him &;song. Love Tom Jones' voice!
Loved Lonnie Donegan and his songs. Cumberland Gap was one of the first records I ever bought. Brought up on skiffle.
Skiffle, ah! the old tea crate and length of string.
I don't watch 'The Voice' but I've always loved that song. Thank you for posting it. Really....really ... really ..... enjoyed it. :o)
So much for the judges not knowing who will be appearing behind them. A very well rehearsed duet or just a coincidence that the son could play the song on the piano? Erm.

Cumberland Gap was our first and only record for ages when Dad bought our first record player. The B side was Last train to San Fernando. Think we must of worn out both sides before we could afford another record.
If you watched the interview before hand he said he toured with Lonnie Doneghan as his piano player
Tuvok - my first record (on a 78) and, like you, the only one for a long time.
I remember seeing an interview with Lonnie wher he said Peter was a natural musician and seemed to be able to pick up any instrument and play it.
Tuvok, which just leaves "A very well rehearsed duet", then.

Look in the background - I think his son is there.
Thanks for the video, I don't watch the Voice but was alerted to this late last night.

Lovely to watch.
Lonnie Donegan, MBE (born April 29, 1931, Bridgeton, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland – died November 3, 2002, Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, England) was a British skiffle vocalist, banjo, washboard player, guitarist and songwriter dubbed the “King Of Skiffle”, who influenced many 1960's British pop musicians.
I was working in Albania when I heard he had died - another famous Scot gone.
Just watched the video of the duet and, imho, if that was 'impromptu' then so is Black Rod's hammering on the doors of the Commons at the state opening of Parliament.
Totally agree with Ken.
