Just wondering if an estate has say 40 houses the post code comes up it could be if all entered one of forty so it has to be by name also .So to call it postcode lottery would not be strictly correct right or wrong ?

If all houses sharing the Postcode had paid to enter the lottery then they'd all win I guess - those who hadn't, wouldn't.

My next door neighbour's postcode is different to mine.

All people with the winning postcode who have joined the lottery share the prize (or if it's the tenner, all get the £10 - I've got that on two occasions).

Never done it so a person in a large estate has a better chance of winning than a bungalow up the road although they could win less of a prize is that right ?

No. Each postcode has an equal chance of winning. The size of the prize (as I understand it) then depends on how many people with that postcode have entered the lottery. So that could be, for (an extreme) example, 1 person on the estate and 2 persons in the bungalow.

The really weird thing is you don't have to just have your own postcode, you can choose others as well, any you fancy in fact- totally weirded me out when I found that out.

Correction; Only the £1m prize is shared, all the other prizes are won by all people with that postcode. So if it was say, the £1,000 prize, then both the people in the bungalow would receive £1,000 each.

I've just checked the entry form - Calico is correct, you can specify a different code from your address.

And yes, it's a bit weird, but gets more punters in I guess.

Prize details according to website. £1,000 draw every day, £30,000 draw Saturday and Sunday, £3m (shared) draw monthly. I don't know how my two £10 prizes arose though - perhaps they've stopped that now, it was some time ago.

No they haven't Canary, they still do £10 draws on Saturday and £15 on Sunday, i won last week.
