Don't forget the last episode of Baptiste tonight folks. Loose ends tied up or left open for another series?

What did you think of it Maggie?

Bit disappointed to be honest - had already sussed his son was involved and it was a bit of an anticlimax.
What was the point of the man who let himself into the police officers flat, and then wasn’t there when she arrived back?

I was convinced she was going to get killed with that, cleaver.
I felt very flat when it finished. It didn’t need the scene on the beach at all, just padding. A real anti climax.
A truly disappointing ending! They could have dropped a few scenes from earlier episodes and shortened the entire series to 5 episodes. What we got last night was roughly 30 minutes tying 'loose ends' then another 20 odd minutes being lectured about the morals of the human race. "750 Euros" then a shake of the head and a Gallic shrug of the shoulders. You know how David Attenborough ends his wild life programmes by letting us know what we can do to help preserve endangered species. Well, that's how the last part of Baptiste felt to me. If they do commission another series, i very much doubt i'll watch while it's being aired. The wind blows and the world turns.
Ken4155, why would you not watch an exciting, shocking programme, that has kept us enthralled throughout the last six weeks, just because the ending could have been slightly better.

I’ve enjoyed all “The Missing” series and will definitely be watching another one.
I enjoyed it.
I too has picked out the corrupt copper early on. Who was the man who survived a knife attack in his throat?
I always feel the need to watch it all again, knowing the outcome.
Chrissa; this wasn't a series of 'Missing' - which i, too, enjoyed both series. My complaint about Baptiste is that the final episode was, to all intents and purposes, over and done with about 30 mins in. The rest of the episode was just padding - as has already been said. It couldn't just have been 'slightly better' imho, it could have been much, much better. As i said earlier, i felt i was being lectured to. For me, the finale spoiled an otherwise immensely watchable series.
Sorry Ken. I should have said the spin-off of The Missing.
Poor.
A series if padded episodes funneled into a poor and ill conceived ending.
Currently binge watching the entire Line Of Duty in readiness for it's much anticipated return next Sunday. Now that IS drama at it's best. Just finished Series 2 earlier and will most probably catch first 2 episodes of Series 3 after tonight's football.
I am SO looking forward to LOD. Can’t wait.
I enjoyed it. I guessed the son was involved - but shooting his mum came as a shock.

Like Chrissa, I don't know why the man broke into the police woman's flat. I was waiting with bated breath for him to leap out of a cupboard with that cleaver!
I enjoyed it but I'm not sure why they had to do the conclusion as a flashback scene to Baptiste and the Tom Hollander character, tho. It lessened the impact and was a hiccough in the flow of the programme to me.
