At last night's line of duty. Can anyone explain it to me. I love the series but I'm finding it harder to understand the story line.

Nellie May; a lot of what is happening does have a bearing on previous series. I have an idea that some of you watch dramas the way my mother used to - with the latest copy of Take A Break on her lap. Then, she would phone me, ask for the answers to a few of the clues and also ask the who?, what?, why? and where? of the programme she had just (supposedly) watched :-)
I too wondered at that, gg, at first. Then i played the scene back and saw that all the bullets were hitting the vehicles - not the occupants, who remained inside the vehicles (sensible chaps). When one cop did show himself outside the vehicle, one of the gang was about to shoot him when the undercover cop pushed him aside and fired a couple of shots toward the officer - but not near enough so as to hit him.
// I got confused at that bit GoodGoalie I kept saying to my daughter "How can there be no casualties ? "//
o god I thought it was the modern arteests bit
deaf actors have to play deaf characters
and the blind, blind characters
and there are no takers for Marie Antoinette ( sorry this is AB, excuses: coz she ends up with her Head in a Basket!)
and so .... no one wanted to be shot ....

Yes a lot of it stretches credibility while at the same time going for a “docudrama” feel at times.
What I find to believe is that there is a gang of trigger happy cut throat villains seemingly inhabiting a large office somewhere, able to pop in and out seemingly at will under the noses of the police.
But, like I say, addictive nonetheless.
