In all honesty, JimF, only Celine Dion and maybe Sandie Shaw had careers that could be compared to Abba’s.
I remember Sandie Shaw auditioning - she had four or five proposed songs and sang one each week on the Rolf Harris TV show. The audience voted for Puppet on a String so that’s the one she went with.
A friend and I decided that we were going to have a mini break in May and Tel Aviv seemed a good idea. Then we found about Eurovision so we went to Sorrento instead. A wise choice.
I think all of the music is dire. The UK produced the Beatles, Stones, Coldplay, Kinks, Small Faces and a million other really good bands. We don't need to pit ourselves against crappy Europop and thier political voting.
Much as I love Norton I'm miffed that he suggested putting granny in the hall when Iceland came on....I had to fight off two grandchildren so I could stay in the sitting room...... ;-)
