How do you feel about BBC political correctness - the extent to which they promote minorities of all kinds these days? Does it make you want to watch the BBC more, or put you off watching the BBC?

Totally puts me off too. I've just been watching The Road To Wembley on BBC1 - it was never like that when I was a kid!
I'm in favour of diversity and like to see "minorities" represented fairly...so, no problem here.

I think the BBC have shot themselves in the foot going down this road, as loads of us will stop watching. As it is, most of the top-rated shows are on ITV and Netflix these days. Even channels 4 & 5 are better than BBC1 or 2.
Shows like Strictly Come Dancing have become so predictable due to BBC PC. Every year now the line up is sure to include at least one black contestant, at least one Asian, at least one disabled person, at least one LGBT.... This year they’re expected to include the first gay pairing. Maybe they’ll also be in wheelchairs...
The main news is the worse. A few minutes about Brexit, a few seconds on national news, and then straight over to a 15 minutes docu-report from war torn somewhere or other.
Off, rarely watch BBC.
I'll have my money on the gay wheel-chair dancers. (unless they're hideously white)
I really don’t have a problem. Sometimes it’s the only chance I get to see our diverse culture represented.

Frankly my dear...............
Given the demographic of ABers, I'm not surprised that diversity is largely unpopular.
No problem here Ginge.
Tbh I don’t notice...but if I did notice, I wouldn’t care provided the program quality was good.
It puts me off, I don't watch it much, the News never anymore, but they are all at the same PC nonsense. I'm watching the Giro d'Italia at the moment on Eurosport 1 and one of the images between the ads is two pairs of swimmer's hands side by side on the edge of the pool ready for starters order, you can only see the hands and nothing else, and yes, one pair is white and the others are black, though amount of black competitive swimmers seems to me to be fairly negligible
I don't see it as "political correctness" generally, just "real life" and it rarely ever crosses my mind. I know people are all different. I am constantly surprised on AB though, with the resentment of people... (white and male ususally...) who fear it.
Well said pixie.
Some of these comments are very sad.
Thanks x
