It was set at a fictional station called Milford Junction

Carnforth, Lancashire. It is supposed to be Milford Junction Station in Kent.

Carnforth station has recently been revamped and the buffet/cafe has now been made to look like the one in the film. The clock is also there - well worth a visit if you're in the area.
