Hi All
I have just cancelled my virgin media bundle as
when I agreed to start the bundle the cost was £85 per month
however the last months bill was £95 and it was due to raise to £116 + next month
they are offering a £29 per month package but only to brand new customers

How much are you guys paying? and for what services ? and what sort of internet speeds ?

btw t took over 6 hours in total to get through to virgin media on the phone

With Virgin - fun package, broadband & phone ( free calls) £59 per month.
Couldn't you haggle them down, johnny? I go through that rigmarole every year and always come to a satisfactory agreement.

I don't understand how your bill rose by £10 last month when the rise isn't due until next month. What happened?

You need to know what providers are available to you. I am stuck with Virgin as every other service provider can only offer very slow broadband which is no good to me.
Pop your postcode in here and see what offers come up:

I did haggle and agreed a new package and waited for the confirmation email and waited and waited then rang them up to ask what was happening and whoa and behold there is no record of the better package ever being offered so now I'm back on the disconnection notice .
:( You need to know exactly what you want before you sign up for a new deal - no point in paying top whack for 200Mbps broadband if 100 will do, nor sports tv if you never watch it.

Make sure that you will get everything you DO want, though

I had an agreement for exactly what I wanted and for a price I could afford
I have been a customer of theirs for nearly 30 years and the way they are treating me because I can no longer afford to pay over £100 a month is terrible
every time I ring up as soon as they recognise my account and realise
I want to down grade they either promise to phone me back but do not or put me on hold until my mobile phone battery goes flat
will not answer their text or on line chat
I've cancelled lots of stuff from BT ad ons, I just use freeview now. More than enough channels.
I also hate that their Foriegn help advice, I always ask to be put through to UK call centre.
Have you checked that comparison site?

I have been with them ever since they took over from Telewest, more than 20 years ago, and have never had a problem with customer service.
Every year I haggle and get a better deal than they were offering - I currently pay around £50 for their full tv package (no sports or premium movies), 100 Mbps unlimited broadband and free weekend calls. I have two V6 boxes included in the price so loads of recording space.
I have just checked the latest offers on my log in page and for an extra £2 a month I could have BT sports HD but I would never use it.

They did send me an offer to upgrade to their new package for £99 a month or something daft like that but I didn't bother :)

I don't understand why they are treating you so badly
I've just changed to NowTV broadband and phone - EE were going to up my monthly cost by £3 to £39. Now paying £30.

I get my tv from Sky (no cable option here))
I've just changed to NowTV. £18 per month, internet and free UK landland and mobile calls.
If you are near end of contract, do online search get cheapest price for what you need, your current supplier should match price or change supplier.
I am the same as you Johnny.5 With Virgin Media paying a lot of money and am just wanting rid of them . Will be going on the site to see if I can get a better deal :)

hi all
thank you for the input
I have had a call back from them
I have agreed to continue my service for 12 months
instead of £116 + per month
I will now pay £63
for two boxes v6 and tivo
weekend calls with land line
full tv entertainment bundle
full sports pack in hd
only thing not getting is sky movies which is no great loss as I have only watched two new movies in the last year
That's good, johnny - well done :)
