Give the first series a miss, but the remainder are superb.

Because Rowan Atkinson is now a lot older. They could hardly portray the latest member of the Blackadder clan as a 30 year old.

ag, since tastes in humour vary so much I hesitate to recommend anything. The several series have followed, through the ages, the exploits of the latest member of the Blackadder clan and his servant Baldric. This might give you some idea.

I agree that the first series isn't the best. It bears little relation to the rest which are quite brilliant. Very funny indeed .... in my opinion. ;o)

Did you ever see the BlackAdder Pilot, by the way, N? It's set in the same period as the original series but with Rowan Atkinson playing a version of BlackAdder that is far closer to the second/third/fourth series than what ended up being the character in the first series. I've always wondered why it ended up changing to such a cringey character instead.
