I thought Tiger/Dragon had the strongest emotional content, with its two contrasting 'affairs'; it was the only one that genuinely moved me. Daggers just didn't grab me the same way. The ending of Hero was disappointing [spoiler alert] - he suddenly comes to realise how important tyranny is and lets himself be killed. That rather seemed like it was made to flatter the present Chinese government by demonstrating that ruling with an iron fist is in the best interests of the people. Yeah, right.
