Film Within A Film-Not For The Fainthearted

Recently i was watching a movie on tv,not sure which.Anyway there were some people in a cinema watching a movie.The particular scene the film on screen was showing was a young woman picking up a pair of binoculars,putting them to her eyes then suddenly screaming and blood runs down her face,she drops the binoculars and we see that they have spikes on the eye pieces.Looks like a 1950s horror film.Any ideas anyone?

yes i saw this in the late 50s early 60 ,that scene was shocking
(large nails shot out of the eye pieces into her eyes)

Saw it in the cinema when it came out - put the fear of god in me - was it Vincent Price?
