Anyone watching this show with Kym Marsh about online dating scams etc. How can some people be so easily taken in giving away their saving etc. When someone asks for money does that not set the alarm bells ringing. Awful scams.

It's very sad that these people are so lonely /desperate to be loved and wanted that they refuse to see whats going on, they dont want to believe that the person who has shown interest in them is not genuine.

I always say, i would see straight through any scam like that but who knows.

I dont have any money anyway so none of them would be interested in me!

Yes Darcey, it is a pity they are scammed, they all seem to have money they wouldn’t be interested in me neither as I wouldn’t have the amounts they have.

It would take a lot to part me from my money!! All the sob stories in the world and I can turn a deaf ear.

A friend of mine was taken in by one of these scams. The scammer spent five months paving the way. By that point they'd exchanged 100s of emails and confidences and my friend really did feel they were in a relationship. She hadn't been asked - at that point - for any money. I then saw an article in the Times about the scam and passed on the information. My friend contacted the scammer, I think she had a tiny bit of hope that he was real... but never heard from him again.

its is sad, i was almost scammed once, a friends account had been hacked by these fraudsters and they asked for cash, which i none too politely declined. I knew my friend wouldn't need cash at all
