Everything now seems to be so long, have so many episodes. This is 6 episodes, Gold Digger was 6 episodes (about 3 too long, with a duff, weak ending), His Dark Materials is 8 hours, and the new version of A Christmas Carol is THREE hour-long episodes.
Unless a drama really grabs me then I increasingly won't put in the time to get to the end. I only persevered with Gold Digger because I'd already invested in the first couple of episodes, and didn't guess that it would just peter out.
Brainiac - if a show is very good 6 episodes is not long enough for me. I never watched The Crown but have recently been watching series 1 - it could have gone on and on as far as I was concerned.
It's been written by Steven 'Peaky Blinders' Knight, maggie, and is replete with the F word, and I think I read that it begins with a child urinating on Jacob Marley's grave.....
Yes, I wouldn't have known about it but I tried to see the film a month or so ago. It was only showing in art house cinemas in London so I never got around to it. A friend emailed me and told me about it tonight.
Looking forward to both The Trial of Christine Keeler and A Christmas Carol. Have read that the latter is a very dark version of the story, produced by the same team that gave us Taboo.
