Just watched this on BBC 4. I had forgotten how lovely it was. Penelope Keith was wonderful as Margo Leadbetter. (And there wasn’t a swear word in it).

Lovely programme.. Why are there no gentle comedies these days? Or am I missing some?

If so, I have never noticed that connection - although one of those could have the 'rear of the year' award in perpetuity, for always being an *@>~ every time she appears on tv!

I loved it. Gentle comedy and very funny.

I think that, like all comedies that have stood the test of time, the characters were really strong, and the scripts were tight and witty.

It was the set-up I found unappealing, and Felicity Kendall's apparently planet-sized allure for the opposite sex missed me entirely.
