A very good Norwegian scandi style crime drama
the language is sometime in English, but mostly
Norwegian with subtitles. Don't let that put you off, it's on
BBC4 on I Player, all 10 episodes. Stay with it as it
gets better as the series goes on.

highly recommended.
I loved it but got a little confused with the different characters and who they were
Question Author
it takes some watching that's for sure, no good getting up to put on the kettle.
Very true
Absolutely brilliant. I did struggle with the last episode trying to sort out who the different men were, but followed the story and was pleased with the conclusion. Not sure however who the blonde girl who massaged the policeman’s shoulders was, she didn’t seem to add to the story at all and for a long time I thought she had been kidnapped.
I thought she was his wife, who he was helping get off drugs. It did seem a weak way to add a red herring to the plot.

I have just watched the last episode and I always feel a bit deflated after watching last episodes; I look forward to the ending, but don't want it to end if you know what I mean.
I watched a Norwegian movie last week The 12th Man I think it was called, very good it was too even if there was quite a bit of violence in it. Didn't think I would like it with sub titles but I did.
I agree about The 12th Man - excellent and a true story as well .

glad some of you watched it, the woman was the policemans wife, the one massaging his shoulders,
he had locked her up for her own good, to get her off drugs, but you didn't realise that until near the end of the programme
i thoroughly enjoyed this and hope they make some more.
Really enjoy these Nordic dramas on BBC4.
Have watched them for some years now. I like subtitles easier to follow when actors mumble or have an accent, too.
I thought the woman was Nils' sister who, as you say, he was helping to get off drugs. They said that a few weeks ago when he seemed the likely suspect.
Looking forward to seeing what will replace it next Saturday.
Question Author
let us hope they make some more, or show more of these Scandi dramas,
Hah, and I thought she was his daughter he was helping to get off drugs?
As for future series. This one was based on 2 of Jorn Leir Horst's novels, The Caveman (2012) and The Hunting Dogs (2013). It was, apparently, the most expensive drama series produced in Norway, which may put them off doing more. However, should they choose to do so, there are another 11 novels in the Wisting series. Given that the series was first aired in Norway as recently as Apr '19, I would hazard a guess that we will see at least one more 10-parter. Fingers crossed.
