I also like my own company but I am well aware that there are those who find isolation terribly hard. On my way to place flowers on my mother's grave, yesterday, I witnessed a car pull up at the kerb of a house about 50 yards ahead of me. A young woman got out, walked up the path and bent down. She then returned to her car, turned her back and leant against the car, facing the house. As I neared, I heard her mother/gran say, "Yes, but i'm getting awfully fed up of it now." Then as I passed the house, I saw that both women were crying. You could tell that the younger just wanted to hug the older, and the older really wanted to be hugged. Must admit it brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
