He told her she couldn’t go out, not get out. She wouldn’t be able to get back in without her key.
That’s the way I understand it.
She could have got out, but had no way of getting back in again, so she could have easily let Ryan into the house.

I thought perhaps he’d locked her in
I initially thought that too until Ryan came in.
Also if he had the keys she could not lock the door if she went out. When she was going to go to the wedding last week how was she going to pay as he took her card off her several weeks ago?
She went rooting through some drawers after he left, she must have hidden a spare set of keys (they showed them in her hands). Her grand daughter was paying for her trip to Spain.
I thought the key was for the cupboard where she hid her suitcase rather than take it upstairs although of course he can see what she is doing via the hidden camera. Maybe she thinks she may need it to make a quick get away.
I hope we see the end of this story before they run out of episodes already filmed. Imagine waiting months to find out what happens.
I know but I not allowed to say as I don’t watch it
She should be chucking him out, not leaving him! It's her house, she not going to leaving him living there is she?
Ask weecalf Darcey, he knows;-)
I wish she'd stop dithering! She went to Alya's determined to go to the wedding and within minutes was fretting about leaving Geoff and anxious to check her 'phone. The police didn't really tell her much last night either, that was a total waste of time.
weecalf how do you know ? are you one of the writers or have you read the spoilers ?
did creepy geoff take the leaflet out of yasmins bag ?
Yes he did take the leaflet out of her bag.
The key in her hand was to the cupboard that she has locked her suitcase in. She has put it there in case she needs to make a quick getaway.
She could open the front door from the inside but not the outside - a Yale type lock - so she wouldn't be able to get back in if she went out.
Her dithering is typical behaviour of somebody in that situation.
Alyah was going to pay for her trip to Spain.
Geoff knows exactly what she is doing inside the house as he has planted webcams so he can watch her.
I know its only a soap and I am sure this sort of thing happens in real life but does anyone else find it hard to understand why anyone would put up with a man (or woman of course) who treated you like that? I cannot for the life of me understand why you would not at least leave them or chuck them out (if not crack them over the head with a ten pound mallet). Nobody would do that to me and get away with it.
lankeela - when the one person is "frightened" - this is where domestic abuse comes in
Yasmeen was at a very low point when she met Geoff. Her husband had left her and took up with another woman, her son had died in a horrific way, she was at a ‘certain age’, she was mugged.
Geoff manipulated and made her so dependent on him that she is frightened of losing him.
Added to that, Geoff shows vulnerability that generates her pity and makes her feel needed. Her family doesn’t need her in the way that they did and she is probably frightened of a lonely future.
I think the storyline is true to life and Corrie has done a great job with it
I agree Barry. I just hope we see the conclusion
