The key in her hand was to the cupboard that she has locked her suitcase in. She has put it there in case she needs to make a quick getaway.
She could open the front door from the inside but not the outside - a Yale type lock - so she wouldn't be able to get back in if she went out.
Her dithering is typical behaviour of somebody in that situation.
Alyah was going to pay for her trip to Spain.
Geoff knows exactly what she is doing inside the house as he has planted webcams so he can watch her.

I know its only a soap and I am sure this sort of thing happens in real life but does anyone else find it hard to understand why anyone would put up with a man (or woman of course) who treated you like that? I cannot for the life of me understand why you would not at least leave them or chuck them out (if not crack them over the head with a ten pound mallet). Nobody would do that to me and get away with it.
Yasmeen was at a very low point when she met Geoff. Her husband had left her and took up with another woman, her son had died in a horrific way, she was at a ‘certain age’, she was mugged.
Geoff manipulated and made her so dependent on him that she is frightened of losing him.
Added to that, Geoff shows vulnerability that generates her pity and makes her feel needed. Her family doesn’t need her in the way that they did and she is probably frightened of a lonely future.
I think the storyline is true to life and Corrie has done a great job with it
