Trying to remember the name or who was in a World War 2 film where a plane crashed in South Africa and the soldiers did not realise they were dead. They kept disappearing as their bodies were discovered. The film was later remade and I cannot find out the name of this fim either.

is it sole survivor?
Sole Survivor 1970; starring Vince Edwards, Richard Basehart and William Shatner. It was directed by Paul Stanley.
I don't believe Sole Survivor has been re-made, but Flight of the Phoenix; another film about a plane crash in the desert was re-made this year and starred Dennis Quaid, Hugh Laurie and Giovanni Ribisi. The original Flight of the Phoenix had starred James Stewart and Richard Attenborough in 1965.
Sole Survivor is definitely the film about the dead airmen playing baseball and disappearing, one by one as their bodies are recovered.
libyian desert rather than south africa tho i think, think it might have been re-made with kiddies and a car crash tho not sure :o/
Dean Koontz had a TV mini-series called Sole Survivor (2000) and there was a 1983 horro/thriller version. But the one's with the B52 crash in the Libyan desert is the 1970 version.
Nitpicking Octavius; it was a B25 not a B52 (I assume a typo, rather than you getting it wrong!)
No, just making sure everyone is paying attention. B-25 is right.
