Any of you watch this programme last night?
After seeing what happens to farmed salmon, it's put me right off buying it in future. They only spoke about salmon but it got me wondering if other fish like cod are farmed and if they face the same problems.

teacake, buy bacon from a butcher that does his own smoking and curing
They cover everything old with make up now and fake tan. :0)
I'd stop using that butcher Teacake.
I don't buy fresh fish I buy frozen. If you get good quality its much better than fresh.
Ive seen panga on menus before now. what is the reason I should avoid them?
Isthe programme repeated please?

Never buy panga or basra or vietamese catfish much which comes from the polluted Mekon river
I didn't watch the programme but what happens in salmon farming has been common knowledge for years. (colour charts, sea flea treatments etc) Salmon is a very expensive fish and the only way to make it affordable is to farm it. Supply and demand.
I missed it last night...thanks for the link mamya.
16.56 Basra is also farmed, along with prawns by the Vietnamese, its in their interest to keep the farms healthy so no problem in eating it.
Basra is a different kettle of fish altogether, Teacake.
And as for the Mekon..............

Is this for a dare?
