I don't mind the music. I've got a bluetooth headset which for me makes the dialogue clearer.

I get the same problem on the Rookie, a great show but the music is way to loud and not always in mood.

Has your tv got good volume control settings? Mine has a 'voice' setting which minimises background music or you could try lowering the bass and increasing the treble.
Subtitles may be a help.
