I found the one with Harriet Walter almost unbearable to watch . I don't remember the original and who acted in it. I must have watched it. I watched them all.

I have watched the whole series and it get even better.

I like her as an actress but found this one a bit boring.

Agree the Harriet Walter one made for very uncomfortable viewing. There's stiff upper lip and then there's burying your head in the sand.

Great! Much better timing. I have a feeling that 'Talking Heads' is what Bennett will be remembered for. Thanks for the reminder.
Did you know that he used to sit for hours, quietly, in Leeds Art Gallery recording how people actually talked to each other? (I may have been one of them!)
He is brilliant and just why he hasn't been 'knighted' is a mystery to me.

Bennett will be remember for ‘The Madness of King George’ that won an Oscar and was nominated for a clutch of others.
And then ‘The History Boys’ another super film.
His diaries are always good too.

Barsel - yes I did find it almost unbearable to watch but it was indeed compelling and I did go on watching it. Although I'm not at all like that woman I could totally understand her and that's down to the superb writing. X

It's not just one thing, he's done many wonderful pieces of work. I spent an evening with him once at a theatre in Harrogate. He sat in a chair with a drink and just talked for about 2 hours. It felt like 5 minutes it went so quickly. He had/has a home in the Yorkshire Dales and I saw him walking nonchalantly up the road with his boyfriend one day, when I lived up there.
