Any one watching this? Very impressed with Jamal and how his confidence in that being blind does not stop you giving your all. Hope he got through on merit and not because of his disability

It's amazing what blind people can do. Nearly half a century ago I was a cub scout leader with a pack based at a residential school for blind children. Some of those kids had parents who tried to wrap them in cotton wool but there was one lad who really stood out as possibly the funniest, cheekiest, liveliest and most self-assured boy I've ever met. Despite his visual handicap, and his juvenile arthritis, if you put him anywhere near to a tree he'd have fearlessly climbed to the top of it before anyone could warn him of the dangers. I always knew that he'd make a success of life. A bit of googling has just enabled me to find out that he's now a fully-qualified physiotherapist, running his own business in Lincolnshire.
. . . and then, of course, there's our own Woodelf who, despite being totally blind is still a highly-talented painter!
