Not surprising with all these cooking programs on tv - 'Nigella Sucks'. Shouldn't keep fit programs be the new Rock ' n Roll? Come on BBC...

If I've heard and read correctly, the problem is with obesity in children, which can only be a product of bad diet and lack of exercise. As for Nigella (surely an angel in human form!) - hers is a cookery programme, she is demonstrating dishes that you may or may not wish to cook now and again. In no way is Nigella professing that her food ideas are the basis of a healty diet, or that they should be eaten on a daily basis. Nigella's enjoyment of consipcuous consumption only adds to her already off-the-scale sex appeal. I'm off for a rub-down with a damp 'Radio Times'!
We have programmes in the UK, not programs - that means computer software. Have pride in the UK!
I did wonder about a couple of visitors having a pop at Spellmaster for picking up innocent spelling mistakes and pointing them out - now I know why they were annoyed!
Well I think Spellmaster is quite amusing .
If only these were spelling errors, but I fear they are not. Practically everyone on this site, including people who are clearly from the UK, uses American spellings - flavor, program, etc. It's about time people said enough, and stood up for British culture. People should be proud of their culture, and language is an integral and fundamental part of culture, but in the UK we are happy to abandon our culture and slavishly follow whatever the Americans do. Well shame on you, and stop being such pathetic poodles of America. I have nothing against Americans, I just don't want to be one and I don't want Britain to be the 51st state.
Sucks? Surely after 'bites' it should be Nigella Swallows?
I don't think a little cross-culturalisation with the occasional spelling blip really spells the end of British culture as we know it - do you? Let's not confuse a few idiosincratic expressions on this Site with the pressing matters of political import - or if we do, let's debate them seperately.
Andy, we are not talking about 'occasional blips' but the ongoing swamping of British - indeed, western - culture by America and Americanisms. If you don't like my style of dealing with these constant Americanisms then fine, but a) don't try to stop me pointing out errors and b) open your eyes to the Americanisation of Britain. Your attitude exemplifies what is wrong with people here and why the British are allowing themselves to be swamped by American culture.

Thanks for pointing out my spelling 'error' Spellmaster. Thing is though, we Have to adopt americanizations of our language for the sake of search engines. You won't get far on Google with words like 'colour' instead of 'color' etc. And of course we must accept that English is a living language or my name's Mudd.
xyzzplugh - have you seen oz aerobics on sky sports, compulsive viewing. Spellmaster, more power to your elbow dude.
