It would take wild dinosaurs to make me miss this. Alf Wight used to travel from Thirsk to attend to a cousin of mine's herd. I thought that was amazing because it was a longish way. Preceding the premier is 'The Yorkshire Vet' and Peter, chief vet at Thirsk, was trained by Wight. Casting looks good. Hopes high............... this is, of course always a bad omen....

I'm going to watch it this evening nescio, I'll look out for that.
It was very good. I watched it years ago and loved the books.
I hope they have Mrs Pumphrey and Tricky Woo in it. I used to laugh when she was always taking him to the surgery because he had a "floppy bottom".
Question Author
I think they do shaney, I've seen some stills and there was an elderly lady with a Tricky Woo type of dog, so they maybe pop up later.
//I hope they have Mrs Pumphrey and Tricky Woo in it.//

*****SPOILER ALERT****

Mrs P does appear (I imagine with Tricky Woo). Played by Diana Rigg (Mrs Pumphrey, that is, not Tricky Woo).
Yes,I looked it up. Diana Rigg is going to play Mrs P.
Nigel Havers will be in it too according to the article I just read.
I remember in the books she awfully posh and was always feeding Tricky totally unsuitable food ,chocs and cakes etc and they made her put him on a diet.
Question Author
Diana Rigg, that's interesting, not seen her in years. She'll be good in the role.

Mrs P. always hated putting 'poor Tricky Woo' on a diet!!
Everything seems to be set in Yorkshire at the moment - I wonder why that can be?
Further to my previous response giving it 4.5/10, I meant to put 4.5/5. Apologies for the error.
Question Author
Ah that explains it sulgravian.

Maybe just coincidence ric.ror.
No IluvMargie - its probably because we have the best scenery, we are the nicest people and people want to come here and work
Question Author
True ric-ror, true ...
Love it all. Can’t wait to see who is cast to play Mrs Pumphrey
ONLY North Yorkshire is stunning, the Dales with the drystone walls, and of course the fabulous Moors.
Loved it last night, certainly as good as the original if not better. Jourdain I would rather have seen it than wild dinosaurs:-)
Question Author
See above Linda, it's Diana Rigg.
Brilliant, thanks
I really enjoyed it I've never watched all creatures great and small before.
I see it's Grassington that is the main location for filming - at first, I thought it was Dent (and technically not Yorkshire, though it is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park). I thoroughly enjoyed it, having gone in a little skeptical that they could pull it off.

Next for C5 ? Perhaps Dr Finlay's Casebook to be resurrected?
N.B. Diana Rigg as Mrs. Pumphrey - she is, of course, a Yorkshire lass!
Yes, why not DT, that would be interesting. Who do you see as Dr F?
I met Ms Rigg one day in Sloane Street. She ain't half tall which I'd never noticed on screen.
