The Joy Of Painting
65 Answers
Does anybody watch The Joy of Painting, BBC Four, Monday to Thursday, 7.30 p.m.? It's a relaxing half-hour watching this artist create a landscape. He doesn't try to be a comedian, he just concentrates on his picture and explains what he is doing.

We all have different tastes, so I would never call an artist dreadful. But seeing the one painting he did on television and the example APG gives, I definitely don't like his style. Nothing draws me to his pictures at all. They look clumsy and unbalanced. Most of my own pictures are done my family members. My Mum was great, OH's dad produced some good stuff and my great grandmothers work was displayed frequently in art galleries. I used to be quite good, but have no inclination to draw or paint any more.
Here's someone inspirational - Cornwall's top living artist - £50k for one of those large originals but well worth a google after this, his seascapes of Cornwall and the Scillies fabulous.....

I used to like watching him. Gives ideas on how to get the effects you could be looking for and it was a nice peaceful half hour. Agree with THECORBYLOON though about the link. I don't think Bob did this one as he always signs his paintings with his name at the bottom of them and that one has someone elses initials so not one of Bobs or his son who took over from him.
