Just wondered what the general opinion was on the first episode
I thought it was poor - almost comically so

I found it quite boring. Husband is watching the second episode now. I can’t be bothered. I thought Hugh Laurie’s accent was swaying towards American in the early scenes.

Have to be honest, I've never heard of it. What's the synopsis?
So many characters introduced in the first episode, Mozz, that it's a tad difficult to give you a synopsis. However, i'll try:-) Ambitious politician wins libel case and believes he is in line for one of the top jobs in a cabinet re-shuffle. Female PM is not too keen on him, however, so things don't exactly go according to plan. Lots of behind the scenes backstabbing, etc, etc. Some viewers have already (apparently) complained that it is 'anti-Tory' but i personally believe it would have garnered just as much vitriol had a Labour government been in power. Rather cliched but, given there's not much new drama on our tv due to the virus, i'll be tuning into episode 2 before making my mind up on how good/bad it is.
Cheers Ken. I'm guessing it's the new Hugh Laurie thing I've seen advertised. Didn't catch the title in the ads.

It ticks all the boxes

Sadly that is true BUT otherwise fantastic.
It was ok. Probably about of a slow burner.

It is......so what.....its a drama
It didn’t really connect with me at all. He looks as if he’s a bit of a wrong ‘un but how it will last for six episodes is anybody’s guess. I thought the PM was so over the top. I agree it was anti-Tory imo.
Well, if it's anti-Tory, I'll give it a look. ;-)
No prizes for guessing who the PM was supposed to be.-)
Feels a bit predictable so far but I aim to stick with it.
I think the Tory party will survive! It’s a drama for Heaven’s sake. You did have to concentrate, but I will be turning in to episode 2.
Ladybird; The female PM is portrayed as a strong woman. As we have had only 2 female PMs, one strong the other definitely not, it is not hard to make comparisons with Thatcher but as it is not based on any truth, one cannot say she is 'supposed to be' anyone.
What channel is it on?

The sad thing is I will probably stick with it because there is a real lack of quality drama - I don’t like anything with a police storyline
Compare it to something like succession though and it’s a very pale shadow
Didn't realise that all 4 episodes are available on iplayer and i've just watched the 3 remaining episodes. Must say that; i quite enjoyed it, i found it more anti politician rather than anti-Tory and, without giving anything at all away, i have an inkling there will be a further series.
Just watched and really enjoyed it. Lots of interesting threads to be unpicked but one thing I did like....the diction. Nobody was muttering and the lights were on.....bliss...x
And....no annoying irrelevant music and bad language... :-)
