What on earth is wrong with Motzi's left shoulder? Every week she has it built up to a ridiculous level. There is nothing attractive about it.

I hate to say this Caran but you are in danger of becoming obsessed with Motsi's dress sense.
I loved tonight's show.
He's stepped away from the world of football altogether then?

Fair comment Mamya, but it is unattractive.
your opinion Caran.
Loved it tonight. Some good dancers emerging.
I think maybe they are trying to distract from Motsi’s bosom.
Really impressed with Bill, he is so determined to do well.
Bill is just fantastic...and I would have considered him...and Caroline Quentin...as underdogs. Really impressed.
Bill has suprised me last week and this week.
He got one of my votes tonight.
I used to watch it, but it has succumbed to the bain of all modern audience entertainment shows - the endless pointless whooping and hollering from the audience every time they see something that impresses them, whether it is actually impressive or not.

I remember watching Steve Harley headline an outdoor festival a few years ago, and when he played the peerless Make Me Smile, at each of the famous pauses, a woman behind me felt that his performance and entertainment levels would be raised off the scale if she punctuated each pause with "Whooo!" at the top of her voice.

She was of course mistaken.

Why is this a trend? I've been going to concerts for nearly fifty years, and we never used to suffer from this brain-dead interruption.
A somewhat limited audience this series Andy, obviously.
No audience to WHOOO this series, andy.
All of my clients who used to love this, have gone off it since. Separately, they all say it is no longer "proper dancing" but showing off in silly costumes. I don't watch it myself... but many of them were dance teachers or ran dancing schools.

As I said, I don't watch it, but i am wiling to bet that even the limited numbers will ensure that the braying and whooping is up to strength!!

i cross-posted - if there is no whooping, maybe I can have another look - I always used to marvel at how gorgeous Tess Daly is!!!

Well refresh your maveling skills, andy ;-)
The rest of the dancers watch and cheer their fellow contestants on, even the gorgeous Tess let's out a whoop now and then - it's called enjoyment and enthusiasm.
I don’t watch Strictly (dance bores the bejesus out of me) but that aside, I completely agree with Andy Hughes; I save a very special loathing for whooping, particularly where it’s unwarranted (if it’s ever warranted). The worst whooping is on Comic Relief; CR has never been funny, but the whooping from the audience over some unfunny comment is bananas.

I am fully aware of what it is, and why it is done, but that doesn't stop it being mindless and seriously irritating to the more 'senior' members of the viewing public who never had to put up with it 'back in their day'.

Yes, I am getting old - older still on Monday!!!!!!!
