Beautiful Allen
Beautiful. Tragic.
Question Author
And like all the best poetry, just rings so true...

Mrs A is in hospital, and we're communicating through our iPads. Not really a parallel, but in some ways...

A
Best wishes to you both and may you be able to hug her gently again soon Allen.x

Thank you for the poem & my best wishes to you & Mrs A.

I hadn't, I'm ashamed to admit, even heard of Eavan Boland until I heard of her on 'Great Lives' on R4's
death programme. What a writer. Many shades of Heaney. Perhaps it's an Irish thing...

Gud luck Allen and hope Mrs A is bk home soon.
Question Author
And I can't help thinking of that poor Irish man carrying his dying wife, and how he'd have wished she could have been in some sort of hospital, being cared for. Tragedy transcends centuries and cultures.
Lovely. Thanks.
Hope Mrs A is home with you soon so that you can have Christmas together.
allen,
I would guess that your wife is on an intravenous drip containing a substance that will make her pass more water and get rid of her swollen lower extremities.
Keep us informed of her progress.
Gosh that's moving. I love poetry.
My heart is with you, Allen and Mrs A. I hope Mrs A is back with you soon. Thank you for such moving poetry.
Thank you Allen, I have tears in my eyes. What a heartfelt poem.

I wish Mrs A home with you soon.

That’s the idea sqad, but not much progress so far - diuretics aren’t doing much, and they’re suspecting impaired kidney function.

She’s hopeful, but obviously getting fed up!

Good nursing and doctoring from all accounts, so she’s in a good place.

Thanks allen.
Those kidneys may one a problem to the diuretic they can give her but there are alternatives.
Keep us informed.
