Does anyone know the name of the actor that was in Corrie that Ray invited to the Bistro and tried to bribe him? I think it was Friday nights episode. TIA.

He played an unnamed reporter in Corrie in 1997 but he became Sgt Roper when he reappeared in 1999. The following year, and into 2001, he made 10 appearances as Alex Swinton but in 2009 he played DC Morgan.
His first appearance in Emmerdale was in 1996, as Ray Thorpe. Seven years later he was in four episodes as Derek Hickling. From 2010 onwards though, he became PC James Pierce.
He's also had four roles in Heartbeat and three in Doctors, as well as appearing in Hollyoaks and Casualty.

Barsel, before tinty netty I used to be driven mad by my need to know where I had seen an actor before - I can't help myself. Thankfully the ability to pause the screen on the credits and a smartphone quickly solves it :)
In some Amazon shows it is possible to bring up that sort of information straight away just by pushing a button on the remote. It will also tell you the name of the music playing in the background. Wish that facility was available on everything.
