Watched the first episode...won't be watching any more. Would have been better as a straight drama rather than a comedy-drama and how much was fact and how much fantasy? I'd guess 10% fact.
It was a typical Channel 4 take on things (which I normally like) but missed the mark IMO.
It was an American or joint American/ British production...first shown over there. Normally, I'd want fact not fiction...but from the trailers I knew what to expect.
Dramas based on factual events can't always contain precise and pure facts as they happened. It would be impossible so you need an element of artistic licence. Blackadder was far from accurate but brilliantly funny, even though based on factual events with added fictional characters.
I agree with both the above posts (11.20 and 11.29) and also knew what to expect...but it just was too silly for my liking.
Not that I place much credence on the Daily Mail's TV critic usually, but he gave it 2 stars after a full-page critique and ended with ....
"every minute of this dross was a struggle".
So, obviously polarizes opinion!
