It might, for instance, let you remember certain instances of a lack of judgement on a given subject and prevent you from repeating them. Like the recollection you’d started 3 threads about a person which might prevent you from stating an....incorrect truth. Perhaps?

I interpret - from your strange metaphor - that I am unfeeling and unsympathetic towards Ms Hunniford's loss, and I have always taken pains to point out that this is not the case.
I would never want anyone to suffer what she has suffered - I have also pointed that out repeatedly, so if you wanted 'blood from my heart' as you put it - you have it.
