I wonder what the requirements were. "Ability to read essential" That's about it. What other requirements could there be? Perhaps in these times it would be helpful if the applicant were a member of the BAMELGBTQ+ community. Stammerers need not apply. Must be free for one hour 31 times each year. Plus a few more for Celebrity Mastermind. What is Clive Myrie being paid for this onerous, responsible and difficult job?

I believe that, in line with most quiz shows, Mastermind is filmed over several weekends. As for a BAMELGBTQ+ "community", is that actually a thing?

I was once in the audience of mastermind (claim to fame alert,,,I once nearly tripped Paxman up as I was sitting in the aisle seat, legs stretched across said aisle, as he was making his way upstairs for a sound check or something)

I have no objection whatsoever to Clive Myrie, Chinajan. Good luck to him, I say. There has already been a thread here to the same effect. I just wanted to suggest that this job isn't very difficult and not worth the undoubtedly high pay that Mr Myrie will be getting for a few hours' work. For JimF, I ran BAME and LGBTQ+ together. As the job is sedentary, it wouldn't hurt the BBC's diversity factor if the next successful candidate were a wheelchair user too.

I recall seeing it being recorded at the old Granada studios in Manchester, one of the people showing us in told us that the same studio was used for Jeremy Kyle in the morning, 'a very different audience demographic!'
Never heard of this person but he ticks a lot of boxes!
