Good ! I always enjoy the Christmas special too.
Never seen it - what's it about? ;))
It's a brilliant show.

And me, no doubt it’ll be quite different on the outside scenes with social distancing etc
Thanks, Bobbi

Davebro , it’s set in Poplar in London’s East end , where midwives reside with Nuns and they serve the impoverished community they’re in, that’s the only description I can make
It's a very heartwarming feel good series.
It takes place in the '60s, so we are also seeing how society is changing for women, non-whites, etc. What year are they up to? I can't remember, it's been so long.

The last series began in 1965. If they make it to 1968 we will see how the country dealt with the "Asian 'Flu" outbreak. Clue: you won't notice anything in particular.
it must be past 1968by now?

///Series 10 will be set in 1966 and, as always, we expect it will touch on important historical moments of the time.///

Watch out for the World Cup win, haha
Series 10 is set on 1966
No sex or violence? One episode dealt with child abuse, another domestic violence. Sister Mary was badly attacked and beaten do badly she had a breakdown.
They've dealt with rape and schoolgirl pregnancy. It's quite gritty at times

Yes you have it , I agree but it’s genteel stories outweigh it with the majority of stories dealing with the depravity of the 50s and 60s in London’s East End
Was excellent initially. But passed its sell by date now .
Question Author
I still love it although I am not ssure how far they can take it now
I love it
davebro: It's about oil fields in western Samoa.
love it, best show on TV
I must be one my the few who didn't watch any more after the first series, but caught snippets of it. I found it boring, much like a lot of series on Sunday nights like Heartbeat. And I am not a fan of 'babies', especially the birthing process! ;o)
