The Worlds Most Expensive Hotels

Anyone watch this earlier on C5 at 7pm?
I recorded it as I knew I wouldn't be back from my birthday tea at my daughters.
It was a hotel in Paris called George V, and I watched it because a friend of mine is going there next March for her daughters birthday.
They're not staying there, but are going for a meal which costs, (would you believe) £330 for the taster menu! That's each!
Having watched what you get to eat, I must say, I wouldn't fancy it at all.
Apparently the Beatles stayed there once and George Harrison was heard to say he preferred an egg butty rather than the caviar.

We had a cruise holiday once, when our cabin was rendered unsuitable because of technical problems with a lift shaft opposite which they would be unable to repair until they put into port, so they upgraded us to a suite, which included a butler.
I felt really uncomfortable, and made it clear that his offers to cater a dinner or drinks party for us were not likely to be accepted, and his offer to pack our cases prior to disembarkation was similarly politely declined.
There is a level of luxury which would not only be wasted on me, but would make me actively unhappy, so I would never want to stay anywhere that offered it.
I don;t imagine the majority of viewers would be interested in, or able to stay in a hotel like that - we Brits just like seeing how the proverbial 'other half' live, so they make TV programmes about it.

I won't say no if someone else is paying ;-)

For a snack though, I might head to Ibiza to try the tasting menu here (for a mere €1500, again if someone else is footing the bill):
