Emmerdale Error

Did anyone notice the error on the social distancing poster in David’s shop last night in Emmerdale? It read ‘practice’ instead of ‘practise’……..I know, I really must get out more!!

Not necessarily an error by the production team. This could be intended to recreate what we see in real !ife.

I think it was the News last night and someone used the word obfuscation. The wording underneath completely missed that word out LOL.

Well it's probably nothing to do with an error by Emmerdale- I seen lots of posters that say practice social distancing, even i know is PRACTISE, but as the meaning can't be misunderstood it don't bother me, no different to someone saying it on the radio/TV (although it would be social distancin' on TV/radio).. Emmerdale would of just used a real one

Am not sure I'd call it an Emmerdale prop, just something from real life. Even the NHS posters can get it wrong

Can’t really blame it on Americanisations Ken, which I know do come into play with some spellings, but Practice is clearly a noun, whereas Practise is the verb.

But as I said even the NHS gets it wrong on some posters and lots of shops get it wrong on there signage, Emmerdale is just reflecting what happens

^unfortunately, many don't know a noun from a verb from a pronoun from an adverb...just as many can't do simple maths (as witnessed on here, many times!).

Netty, Americans are supposed to use practice for both. But I've quite often seen them use practise as a noun.
