Why Do All The Sets On Cory And Deadenders Have Blinds On All The Outside Windows And Every Light And Lamp On
18 Answers
Having to live with my mother I have to watch coranation Street and eastenders, the sets are not realistic at all, blinds on every window, all lights on lamps cooker hood light even when there out, police that take people down the station without a warrant, mechanics that have pristine clothes and huge spanners that would not fit any nut under that perticul car, perhaps some better set dresses and advisors.
still thank full for some where to live!

If you think about it, everyone's house or flat in soapland is like a recording studio - totally soundproof. The only sounds you hear are related to the dialogue at the time - never a slammed door, neighborhood noise, cars hooting, toilets flushing, nothing.
As for the accuracy of clothing, equipment and so on, the genuine articles would distract people from what they are meant to be paying attention to, which is dialogue and body language, especially facial expressions.
The accuracy of anything else simply doesn't matter.

What I know is based on hanging around for hours on soap sets - Corrie, Brookside, and others, waiting to interview actors, and talking to lighting technicians, set builders, and camera crews.
I am never averse to learning more than I know about absolutely anything - but nothing in your link gainsays the points I made.

Douglas, I never think it is all about me, and I have no criticism of your post, apart from its inaccuracy.
As I said, I am always keen to learn, but experience tells me I already know as much as I need to about your pet subject - pointless off-topic personal sniping, so I will be looking to continue my education from any posts except yours.
