was there ever a decade the rich didn't win? Maybe during the French revolution.

The rich will always find a way to win....usually children of fairly well off who make the most of education, contacts and either train routes become professionals or seriousness opportunities. The poor have a disadvantage from birth and generally less roll models...and lower aspirations and less education or contacts
