It's driving me crazy, but what pop song is being "copied" in the latest Telewest commercials. You know the one, the "tunless" 1980s(?) one

Many thanks

Not sure of the artist but it's called "Money (That's what I want)"
Don't know the ad but looking at the previous answer - could be 'money' by flying lizards
It wasn't tuneless when the Beatles did the original......OK, it's not a great melody, but it did go up & down a bit!
Just to be pedantic (cos I'm like that) - The Beatles didn't do the original. The song was written by Janie Bradford and Berry Gordy Jr and first recorded in 1959 by Motown artist Barrett Strong (who went on to co-write I Heard It Through The Grapevine amongst others).
Perfectly true - if I hadn't had quite so many glasses of chateau collapso I'd have thought further before putting digit to keyboard. I should, of course, have said "their version".

The song is the original 'Money' track by the Flying Lizards and the voice over for the 'Elly West' character is done by the original singer Deborah Stickland.

Trust me - I know
