I am enjoying this series, but why the horrible voice over?

He sounds like he's talking to four-year-olds who have English as their third language!

Talk properly! I understand spoken Engish, you don't have to over-enunciate every ... single. ... word, just read the script, I'll get it!!!!!

Is it the one with a liverpool accent? I think I heard that, sounded as if he was putting it on or talking to someone who was hard of undertsanding

It is he is a well known actor, but why him?

I'll do it for half his fee!!
He is, according to his agent, "Genuine, laidback & sincere with a gritty, warm, reliable and affectionate voice":

(One would have hoped though that his agent would know that the character he played in Only Fools and Horses was called Denzil, and not Delroy!).

I've not seen the series but, having just taken a look at a clip on YouTube, I can see why you find his narration irritating. It reminds me of a young child, reading from a story book, who's not yet learned exactly where the stress should go on each word:

I wouldn't have thought this type of cheap tabloid TV was made to be over critiqued.

No need to give a proper rolling review when you're horizontal on the couch of an afternoon, inhaling Greggs pizza slices and Stella.

Having said that the producers obviously know more than a couple of retired old folk on t'internet.
To me it sounds like he is trying to hide his Liverpool accent.
dougie, is that deep fried Pizza?
it sounds to me as if they just got hm to say a load of random words then strung them together using a computer program a la stephen Hawkins

How many more series about bailiffs can there be? I'd have thought that the numerous 'substantial damages' C5 has had to pay for invasion of privacy during episodes of Can't Pay We'll Take It Away would have been the end of them.
