Just managed to find myself watching this wrestling and wondering if it is actually choreographed and if they practice together as some of the moves seem to be repeated and the one on the receiving end just seems to allow the other one to keep doing the same moves to them - then the tables are turned and the first one ends up being beaten. Must admit to enjoying it though!
Same as ours was back in the day. Every Sat afternoon, we'd settle down and watch the 'bad' guys go one fall up, then cheer like crazy as the 'good' guys first draw level, then dramatically win the bout. Fixed? Yes. Entertaining? Yes. Very - back then.
If you are in any doubt whether or not wrestling is fixed, try looking for betting odds on the major bouts:-/
Ah yes, Saturday afternoon wrestling - my dad's cousin was one of the main referees. Have just googled AEW and they are all 'employed' by the company so no wonder it is all 'fixed' but it is cleverly done and very enjoyable.
I very well remember the Saturday afternoon wrestling and met Giant Haystack a few times, lovely chap with a great sense of humour. The grannies in the audience amused me as much as the wrestling, swinging their handbags and shouting and booing.
