This aired on ITV back in April, but we've only just got access to it via Virgin Media here in Ireland.

A thoroughly excellent series - beautifully set in the the early 1960s - with stand-out performances from Tom Hollander (which I expected) and Joe Cole (which I didn't).

The resonance with today's Russian adventurism and interference is obvious - but not over-stressed - the whole six episodes were gripping and by no means inferior to the much loved Michael Caine movie.

If you're in Ireland, then catch it now - if you're in the UK then I think it's still available on the ITV player - either way it makes a great binge watch across a couple of evenings.

I watched it when aired, SD, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As you say, Joe Cole was surprisingly excellent in the role played on film by Michael Caine.
different ending, as is the way for modern adaptations!
Yes we watched it earlier this year. Excellently done although you have to actually watch it. Also Lucy Boynton was an absolute stunner, she was the ultimate 60s beauty in face and fashion.

Agreed Prudie - whoever did the make-up and costumes for Lucy Boynton should get a BAFTA award.
We enjoyed it
