A brilliant end to a brilliant series, imho, Naomi. I was beginning to quite detest him toward the finale, but his 'coming clean' altered my opinion of him. And i wouldnt worry too much about leaving him banged up. I have no doubt he is serving his time, helping other inmates - and possibly guards - with their legal problems, earning himself various...

What an ending, but for all he was - and wasn't - aren't there times when you just want them to get away with it? I don't know why - he was a shyster, a trickster, a crook, all of that, but even so .... I liked him. Great ending in my opinion - but I wish he'd have stuck with the agreed 7.5 years instead of coming clean. I kind of hate leaving him banged up there for 80-odd years.

I thought it was a pre-quel
"to show how he got like that"
and the time line really confused me - - Pinkerman and Walter turn up as bit parts ( last episode) and he doesnt recognised them, so it has to be pre BB
Perhaps I was thinking too much
Classical ring cycle - the beginning ( breaking up the house) foretells the end
and the eight years to eighty years I thought was to show he gambled too often and lost....
[Kim baring all to Howard's widow never works - all she think is that its another layer of lies]
