Binge watched this three part drama and really enjoyed it. Kept thinking "why is this so familiar". Then realised it was adapted from a Val McDermid book which I read some years ago. It's set in St Andrews and worth a watch.

Thank you Ael .
yes - some very familiar sights for me!

I read Still Life recently and Karen and Phil were not as I visualised them. Loved the book and the telly series.
I also read the novel some time back and though i watched all 3 episodes, i couldn't help but think there was something missing. Plus the juvenile attempt at humour was a tad off-putting. Doubt i'll watch any more, should there be future episodes.
Thought it pretty good. The lead actress, however, a little underwhelming.

Isn't that the point? She's a small woman, underestimated and taken for granted. Don't forget the novels were written by Val McDermid.

It was adapted for TV by Emer Kenny, who also played a character, Pirie's friend, River Wilde.
