.....again! Lets see where the poverty and austerity is in this country when Children In Need gets going. Everyone's loaded aren't they? Money to burn! Poverty and austerity are just myths! Myths I say! :o)

Even during times of national austerity there is still a lot of people with spare cash.
I think this year more people will give something to this particular charity as it focuses on children in the UK.

Thanks for the replies folks. I never donate to charity because I think there are too many backsliders in there, where hardly any of the money goes towards the cause it's supporting. The biggest culprit is the utterly useless but mind bogglingly wealthy NSPCC who do virtually nothing to support children.

I regularly give to animal charities but will usually donate a tenner or 20 whenever CIN or RND are on.

Not sure why you are so down on the NSPCC, 10C. I have the fantastic support they provide to children who have been abused, real support that can last for years.

The social services don't like the NSPCC. On the sad few occasions I contacted the NSPCC, they just told me to phone the police or the social services. Others have said the same. Remember all those former football apprentices from a couple of years ago, who were reporting abuse from their teen years? They all said the NSPCC were fantastic with them. They should contact the police or social services. Barry100, I presume you mean you've seen the fantastic support from the NSPCC. Could you give some details please? Preferably things that are not also carried out by the police and social services.

And how do we know who benefits from the. cash raised?
