Last night. I don’t want to spoil it for you if you haven’t watched it yet, but I am still in shock at the verdict. Especially the two low life’s on the bike. Gobsmacked is not the word.

I was as amazed as you. The two lowlifes were out stealing again even though one of them had to use a crutch to walk, and (he said) a bleed on the brain.

The judge said that the 2 scum wouldn't be able to manage a jail term so suspended, what an ass the law is, but the other guy gets 22 months. Someone should tell the judge that they managed to go out on the rob again.

that link is not all that helpful - it doesnt make it clear if the homeowner was the one who got a prison sentence or the burglar

In my opinion if this was some years ago, pre CPS, the householder would never have been charged. It was obvious from the police off the cuff comments that they viewed this issue as most of the watching public did. However, we are stuck with the CPS for decision making, which is detached and remote. The next failsafe is the jury. If I had been a juror I guarantee I would have supported a not guilty for the householder. That failed us also. Finally having been found guilty, although I think he pleaded guilty, there is the judge that one would hope would see the entire scenario sensibly. He or she also failed the householder and in so doing - in my opinion, us the law abiders. Almost two years inside which could have been a suspended sentence, a fine, community service, probation or whatever. Anything but sending this man to prison. The worst part was their decision to abort their unborn child. Makes you proud to be British.

i didnt see it and as previously mentioned i don't think the article made it clear - so did the householder chase the lads in his car and run them down? and then get put in prison (if so, what for?)

Yes bednobs, they made off on a motorbike and he chased them at high speed smashing into the back of the bike. He was charged with GBH.

The home owner caught them trying to steal from him.

It actually upset me that this poor man was sentenced to 22 months in prison for trying to protect his family and property when the low life career criminal scum went free th roam the streets causing countless other law abiding citizens grief and upset.

I actually wish i hadnt watched it, it upset me so much.

I know what he did was wrong but he just saw red whereas these scum had a list of planned burglaries they had carried out going back many years.

I dont have any sympathy for people committing crime, its their career choice. One of the robbers even admitted that he wanted to be a mechanic growing up but then realised there was easier ways to make money.

i also dont have any sympathy for them ... however, he ws lucky he DIDN'T kill them. Just because you think someone is burgling you, does not give you the right to try to kill them.
