I love Countdown...always have. After MrG died I had nobody to listen to me if I got a nine letter word or completed the numbers as fast as the competitors so I'd phone my brother to tell him.
He's very kind and humoured me but I'm sure I heard him say.....bonkers....as he put the phone down.
Dave and I sort of compete now. Nicely, but I can see from his face he's a bit miffed if I beat him. :-)

Yes, he was brilliant and it seemed to come so easy to him, he was very relaxed, he has a lovely twinkle in his eye
